If there was one good thing about impeachment is that it outed officials inside the Trump administration that have been plotting to take the President down. One of people that has been identified is “Anonymous” who wrote a New York Times op-ed in 2018 and recently released a book that was a nothing burger in November of 2019.
Joe diGenova, former US Attorney for the District of Columbia said during an interview that a White House official told him that a staffer inside the Trump administration that wrote the New York Times op-ed reporting on how they were resisting Trump from inside the administration has been identified and will be leaving soon.
“I am told that soon there will someone else leaving the White House, who wrote that article. Apparently they have identified ‘anonymous’ and we were told that – Victoria and I were at dinner with a senior government official last week — and we were told that by this person they have, in fact, identified ‘anonymous,'” diGenova said.

In 2018, “Anonymous” wrote that they wanted some of Trump’s policies to succeed, “but we believe our first duty is to this country, and the president continues to act in a manner that is detrimental to the health of our republic,” adding, “From the White House to executive branch departments and agencies, senior officials will privately admit their daily disbelief at the commander in chief’s comments and actions. Most are working to insulate their operations from his whims.”
The author also wrote, “Many Trump appointees have vowed to do what we can to preserve our democratic institutions while thwarting Mr. Trump’s more misguided impulses until he is out of office.”
The claim that “Anonymous” has been discovered comes at the Trump Administration announced that it will remove 70 Obama holdovers for the National Security Council.
