Who is calling the shots?
White House press secretary Jen Psaki made an astonishing admission to one of her colleague’s that was part of the Obama administration, David Axelrod.
While appearing on Axelrod’s podcast, Psaki admitted they keep Biden in a cage to prevent gaffe’s and from going “off message.”
Axelrod was impressed that the White House has been able to contain Biden, “It seems to me that you guys have done a good job of managing that, because a lot of his interactions are speeches and settings in which you have a pretty good sense going in what he’s going to say.”
“I think the thing that’s interesting is that he actually takes questions – I mean he took questions, I mean he did a mini press conference yesterday. He takes questions nearly every day he’s out from the press. That is not something we recommend, in fact, a lot of times we say, ‘Don’t take questions,” Psaki replied.
So who is calling the shots?
Media reporter Joe Concha pointed out the double standard, “For giggles, picture former White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany saying it’s “not something we recommend” regarding President Trump taking impromptu questions from reporters, which he did more often than any of his predecessors by a country mile. Then imagine the reaction of, say, Jim Acosta or any other journalist upon hearing it. Smelling salts and/or a defibrillator come to mind.”
Psaki also hinted that after this year she’s moving on.
“You said at the beginning that you didn’t expect to be in this job forever, for four years and so on. Is that still your thought that at some point you’re going to step away now?” Axelrod asked.
“I think it’s going to be time for somebody else to have this job in a year from now or about a year from now,” Psaki replied.
“I mean, when I talked to the inner circle of the Biden orbit about this, we talked about coming in and doing this job for a year, which was quite appealing to me for many reasons,” Psaki added.”One, this is, what a moment in history. Right. To be a part of. It’s always true in the White House. But I think following Trump, especially if you can take the temperature down a little bit, that’s a cool thing to be a part of.”
Waiting in the wings is Kamala Harris’s spokesperson, Bernie fanatic, Symone Sanders who has already voiced that she was unhappy that Psaki got the nod instead of her.
Joe isn’t allowed to take questions from the press, so who is calling the shots? For that answer I guess Psaki will have to “circle back.”
