What is going on in Nevada’s executive office? They have hit a whole new level of stupid.
Last week Nevada’s Governor Steve Sisolak (D) issued an emergency order forbidding the use of anti-malaria drugs like chloroquine for Coronavirus patients.
The order restricts, “the prescribing and dispensing of chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine during the COVID-19 outbreak. These restrictions include prohibiting the prescribing and dispensing of chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine for a COVID-19 diagnosis or any new diagnosis made after the effective date of the regulation, and requiring an ICD-10 code and a limit to a 30 day supply for any new prescription of these drugs.”
In the same order, Sisolak banned social gatherings of more than 10 people. In the event the governor’s order is broken that person could be charged with a misdemeanor crime, the order will be in place until April 16.
Governor Sisolak’s Chief Medical Officer of Nevada is named Ihsan Azzam and is the idiot that advised the Governor to ban the drug. Azzam’s job according to the State of Nevada is to “public health surveillance, epidemiology and disease control activities. He advises state and local health authorities, healthcare providers and community-based organizations, and provides professional education, guidelines, clinical updates and recommendations to prevent, control and contain disease outbreaks.” His bio shows he has a medical degree from Cluj University of Medicine in Romania, completed his residency as an OBGYN in Africa, has received certifications in epidemiology from several large medical schools, including the CDC.
Just one problem…he’s can’t practice medicine because he doesn’t have a medical license to practice inside the United States.
As reported by the Washington Times Azzam is dictating Nevada’s public health policy but he wouldn’t be allowed to take your temperature at a doctor’s office.
Nevada’s top doctor isn’t licensed to practice medicine in the United States.
Ihsan Azzam testified in Las Vegas on Tuesday that he has a master’s degree and worked for several years in environmental public health and epidemiology before being named chief state medical officer last May.
Azzam says he practiced for several years as an obstetrics and gynecology physician in Africa before moving to the United States in the 1990s.
On Sunday night the FDA issued an emergency authorization to allow the use of hydroxychloroquine to be prescribed for patients and clinicals have looked good.
Democrats claim they believe in science but, to hurt the President they are ignoring science and hurting suffering Americans.
