Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) was one of the loudest liberal voices politicizing and racializing the death of 30-year-old New York City homeless man Jordan Neely.
AOC alleged that the “houseless” Neely was “murdered” by the 24-year-old Marine, Daniel Penny, who put Neely in what some have called either a “headlock” or a “chokehold.” The truth is that Neely was subdued May 1st by multiple passengers on an NYC subway after allegedly behaving in an aggressive and threatening manner.
Neely was later pronounced dead at a nearby hospital, and it was just announced that Penny has been charged by D.A. Alvin Bragg with second degree manslaughter.
“Killing is wrong. Killing the poor is wrong. Killing the mentally ill is wrong. Why is that so hard to say?” AOC wrote in one tweet, while in another she tweeted a link that tried to make the case that locking up the mentally ill was not the solution to the crime problem.
This week a homeless man in New York City has been charged with hate crimes after he defecated on an LGBTQ flag.
Fred Innocent, 45, walked into a tapas bar on the Upper West Side on April 15 and grabbed two rainbow flags off of a table, according to police. He then relieved himself on one of the banners, then cleaned himself with another.
Innocent was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated harassment as a hate crime and two counts of criminal mischief. He is being held on $100,000 bail.
“This is a hate crime, plain and simple,” said David France, director of the documentary “The Death and Life of Marsha P. Johnson.” “It’s an attack on our community and our values.”
Where is AOC’s outrage over this homeless and likely mentally ill man getting arrested and possibly sent to prison for a long hate-crime conviction?

Homeless can assault bodega owners, subway riders, or people just walking down the street and not be charged. If they *squints* wipe their butt with a rainbow flag, however… https://t.co/Z37erTs1s4
