The Coca-Cola company is learning real quick that when you go woke you go broke.
Coke has been facing backlash after coming out against Georgia’s voter integrity law. James Quincey, Coca-Cola CEO and chairman told stakeholders the company would advocate against the newly passed law.
“Our focus is now on supporting federal legislation that protects voting access and addresses voter suppression across the country,” he said. “We all have a duty to protect everyone’s right to vote, and we will continue to stand up for what is right in Georgia and across the U.S.”
Immediately, the soda giant faced backlash and conservatives began to boycott the soft drink.
Local Republican governments began banning Coke vending machines in their buildings.
“The left-wing in America, they defund. They boycott. They cancel. They tear down statues. All sorts of egregious actions,” Eddie Harris, County Commissioner of Surry county, North Carolina said. “The expectation from them is that the opposing political side will cower in the corner. We are supposed to accept that. It is supposed to be OK. It is not OK.”
“Yes, we are trying to cancel Coca-Cola,” Harris declared.
Then, on the same day a report showed Coke market value has plummeted $4 billion a product placement stunt blew up in their face.
Coca-Cola is sponsoring the UEFA ERO 2020 soccer tournament and soccer superstar Cristiano Ronaldo sat down for a media event. As Ronaldo took a seat for the press conference two bottles of Coca-Cola were next to him, he grabbed both of them placed them off camera, held up a bottle of water and said, “Agua!”
“Players are offered water, alongside Coca-Cola and Coca-Cola Zero Sugar, on arrival at our press conference,” a Euro 2020 spokesperson said.

The media is claiming that Ronaldo’s stunt caused Coke’s market value to plummet. That’s nonsense the boycott by conservatives is working.
