Woke Disney Succumbs to Dems Pressure…Dreams Really Don’t Come True

We reported earlier this week that woke Disney was finally getting something right and that dreams really do come true. They were standing their ground against pressure for Disney’s streaming outlet, Hulu, to run ads focused on the major platform themes from Democrats in the coming elections.

Well, we found out today that Disney is backtracking and bowing to the pressure from Democrats on the left and they will run the political advertisements on Hulu.

Disney officials sent this statement to Axios, “Hulu will now accept candidate and issue advertisements covering a wide spectrum of policy positions, but reserves the right to request edits or alternative creative, in alignment with industry standards.”

This is a change for Hulu. They have years of prohibiting political issues in their advertising. But now they will air controversial ads that focus on topics like gun control, abortion, and the January 6 attack on the Capitol.

Hulu had previously kept an ad off of their streaming platform from Surat Patel, a Democratic Congressional candidate. It contained references to “sensitive” political topics.

Patel sent a heated letter to Disney saying that “to not discuss these topics in my campaign ad is to not address the most important issues facing the United States…these are topics the American people expect to hear from their leaders.”

And the pressure kept coming at Disney. Earlier this week the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, and the Democratic Governors Association all said they had bought joint ads relating to abortion and guns. They maintain that Hulu never ran those ads on its platform.

“Voters have the right to know the facts about MAGA Republicans’ agenda on issues like abortion — and Hulu is doing a huge disservice to the American people by blocking voters from learning the truth about the GOP record or denying these issues from even being discussed,” the joint statement read.
