Zegler Apologizes

Ah, Rachel Zegler, the Snow White actress who seems to believe her moral authority extends as far as her movie set. Fresh off her latest political rant, Zegler has now issued a predictable “apology” after torching half the country in an Instagram tirade over President-elect Donald Trump’s reelection. Spoiler alert: she’s not sorry for what she said, only that it might hurt her box office numbers.

Let’s recap the drama. In her original posts, Zegler declared that Trump, his voters, and anyone remotely supportive of him should “never know peace.” That’s right—the same actress who preaches about kindness and inclusivity just cursed 74 million Americans. She followed it up with a screed about Trump voters being a “foolish subscription to a false sense of security, masculinity, intelligence, patriotism, and humanity.” But don’t worry, she’s now totally committed to “contributing positively toward a better tomorrow.” Uh-huh.

“Hi everyone, I would like to sincerely apologize for the election post I shared on my Instagram last week,” the 23-year-old actress wrote on her Instagram Story.

“I let my emotions get the best of me,” she said. “Hatred and anger have caused us to move further and further away from peace and understanding, and I am sorry I contributed to the negative discourse.”

“This week has been emotional for so many of us but I firmly believe that everyone has the right to their opinion, even when it differs from my own,” Zegler continued. “I am committed to contributing positively toward a better tomorrow.”

The timing of her apology couldn’t be more transparent. Disney’s Snow White trailer is about to drop, and with boycotts brewing faster than a Disney villain’s potion, someone in PR clearly handed her a shovel and told her to start digging herself out of this mess. After all, a movie remake already controversial for its complete disregard for the original story doesn’t need the added headache of its lead actress alienating a massive chunk of the audience.

This isn’t Zegler’s first brush with controversy, either. Remember when she called the original 1937 Snow White story “weird” and labeled the prince a “stalker”? Disney fans sure do. Now, with her back against the wall, she’s suddenly praising the classic as “a monumental moment in film history.” Funny how opinions change when there’s a paycheck on the line.

Meanwhile, The Daily Wire’s Bentkey is capitalizing on the backlash, announcing their own live-action Snow White and the Evil Queen starring Brett Cooper. Talk about perfect timing—finally, a Snow White remake for people who don’t want a lecture with their fairy tale.

The bigger takeaway? Zegler is emblematic of Hollywood’s worst tendencies: preachy, out-of-touch, and incapable of understanding that audiences don’t want their entertainment wrapped in condescension. Her apology might smooth things over with Disney’s accountants, but for everyday Americans tired of being vilified by celebrities, it’s too little, too late. If Zegler’s looking for peace, maybe she should start by giving her audience a little respect.
