The internet is abuzz with photos of a baby allegedly left on the ground during Taylor Swift’s concert in Paris.
The images, originally posted by a fan account, have sparked outrage as concerned citizens worry about the child’s safety. And can you blame them? Who in their right mind would bring a baby to a loud and crowded concert, let alone leave them stranded on the ground? This kind of blatant disregard for children’s safety is unacceptable, and it’s a sad commentary on the state of parenting today.
But what’s even more shocking is the concert organizers’ lack of responsibility. According to Deadline, the La Défense Arena does not recommend bringing children under 4 to the show, yet they still allowed the infant to be in the pit area.
To make matters worse, the arena’s website explicitly warns attendees of the high volume and potential danger for young children. This baby should have never been in that environment in the first place, and someone needs to be held accountable for this gross negligence.
But perhaps the most concerning part of this story is the fact that it took concerned comments from social media users for anyone to raise an alarm. Where were the concertgoers? Where was security? It’s a sad state of affairs when the online community has to be the one to speak up for the safety of a defenseless child. And what’s more, one can only wonder what kind of parent would subject their child to such a dangerous situation. It’s a clear example of selfishness and irresponsibility.
Thankfully, it seems the baby did have ear protection, as some commenters pointed out. But that doesn’t excuse the fact that they were left on the ground in such a chaotic environment. It only takes one misstep for tragedy to strike, and in this case, it’s a miracle nothing worse happened. But it shouldn’t take a near-miss for people to realize the absurdity of bringing a baby to a concert and leaving them unattended.

Ultimately, it’s not surprising that Taylor Swift’s tour has earned over $1 billion in revenue. After all, her fans will do anything to see her in person, even if it means risking their child’s safety.
Taylor Swift should consider adding some basic parenting advice to her repertoire of lyrics. After all, she has a lot of influence over her fans, and they could really use some common-sense advice.
