A recent video has surfaced showing far-left Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) in a heated confrontation with pro-Palestinian activists. The incident, which took place inside of a building, has sparked mockery and criticism online.
In the video, AOC is seen walking with her spouse when she is approached by a masked man who accuses her of not calling the situation in Palestine a genocide. The New York Congresswoman immediately turns around and aggressively confronts the man, saying, “I need you to understand that this is not okay.”
The man continues to accuse AOC of not actively speaking out against the alleged genocide, to which she responds by yelling, “You’re lying!” AOC then turns to another woman questioning her and gets up in her face as well. The video ends with AOC’s spouse stepping in between her and the activists as they walk outside.
Many have pointed out the irony in AOC’s reaction, as she has encouraged activists to make people uncomfortable in the past. In a tweet from 2020, AOC wrote, “The whole point of protesting is to make ppl uncomfortable… that’s the point.”
This incident once again highlights the hypocrisy of the Democratic Party and its leaders. They claim to support protesters and encourage activism, but when they are confronted themselves, they quickly resort to aggression and hostility.

It’s also worth noting that AOC’s reaction starkly contrasts how she has handled similar situations in the past. During her campaign in 2018, she showed up at the office of then-Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) to protest his stance on climate change. AOC praised her own courageous act, saying, “This is what community organizing looks like. This is what building power looks like.”
In 2020, AOC tweeted, “The whole point of protesting is to make ppl uncomfortable. Activists take that discomfort w/ the status quo & advocate for concrete policy changes. Popular support often starts small & grows. To folks who complain, protest demands make others uncomfortable… that’s the point.”
