Hello, everyone! I trust this message finds you well. You know, there are times when certain events make you pause and wonder, “Did that really just happen?” A scenario of such occurred this past weekend when an attempt was made on former President Donald Trump’s life. Thankfully, he’s okay, without any serious injury.
One would expect an incident of this magnitude to unite us, wouldn’t one? However, the situation took a peculiar turn when President Joe Biden decided to address the nation – not once, not twice, but thrice! And these weren’t just ordinary speeches. One of them was delivered from the Oval Office.
Now, here’s where it gets intriguing. Biden, during his addresses, appeared to struggle some. He had trouble maintaining focus and occasionally jumbled his words. It was… somewhat challenging to follow.

At one point, he even said that we need to resolve our issues in the “battle box”- we think he meant to say ballot box…possible Freudian slip?

The content of his speech was interesting. Instead of concentrating on the topic at hand—the attack on Trump—he strayed a couple of times. He discussed the plot against Gretchen Whitmer and the events of January 6th. While these are undoubtedly important issues, they didn’t exactly align with the pressing conversation at hand.
What stood out to me was Biden’s call for everyone to “lower the temperature.” Now, in principle, that’s a commendable message. We could all benefit from being a tad less heated in our dialogues these days. However, it’s somewhat challenging to accept his plea for calm seriously when he himself labeled Trump as a dictator and a “genuine threat to the nation” just a few days prior.

Biden’s address could have served as a moment for unity and reflection. Yet, it felt more like a lecture than a call to action, and that’s truly regrettable. We deserve better. We deserve leaders who can rise above the chaos and not contribute to it. This is a crucial factor to remember when we cast our votes this coming November.
