Elon Musk has never been one to hold back, but his latest response to Senator Elissa Slotkin (D-MI) was pure, unfiltered gold. Slotkin, in her official Democrat rebuttal to President Trump’s joint address to Congress, decided to take a swing at Musk, calling him out by name in what was surely meant to be a scathing rebuke. Unfortunately for her, Musk responded in a way only he could—by completely obliterating her with a casual shrug and an “I don’t know who she is.”
Fox News’ Aishah Hasnie caught up with Musk as he strolled through the halls of Congress alongside Rep. Lisa McClain (R-MI), and when asked for his thoughts on Slotkin’s remarks, Musk’s deadpan response was all it took to send McClain into a fit of laughter. It was the kind of dismissive blow that makes a political attack backfire spectacularly. If this were a video game, we’d be hearing “Fatality” right about now.

Slotkin, who recently took on the role of Michigan’s newest senator, used her speech to attack both Trump and Musk, apparently under the impression that this would score her some points with her base. She warned that Trump would increase the national debt and push the country into a recession—conveniently ignoring the fact that Biden’s administration already did that. And rather than address how the left’s reckless spending spree made $10 milk and $4 gas the new normal, she decided to deflect by accusing Musk and his so-called “gang of 20-year-olds” of scheming against Americans’ financial security.
This sudden concern over fiscal responsibility from a Democrat is almost adorable. Slotkin insisted that Trump and Musk would go after Americans’ retirement savings to fund their policies, bringing up Musk’s comment that Social Security is “the biggest Ponzi scheme of all time.” Now, whether you agree with Musk or not, the idea that Democrats—who have spent decades raiding Social Security like a personal piggy bank—are suddenly its defenders is beyond laughable.
But perhaps the most entertaining part of her speech was her attempt to paint Musk as some kind of tech supervillain, claiming he and his team were prying into Americans’ personal data. The irony here is hard to ignore. These are the same Democrats who had no problem with Silicon Valley and government agencies colluding to censor speech, suppress stories, and silence political opponents. But now, suddenly, tech overreach is a problem? Right.
Elissa Slotkin (D): “Is there anyone in America who is comfortable with Elon and his gang of 20-year-olds using their computer servers to poke through your tax returns, your health information, your bank accounts?”

Of course, this is all just part of the left’s broader strategy: attack their political enemies while ignoring their own glaring hypocrisies. Slotkin and her party spent years championing the idea of lowering the voting age, arguing that teenagers were mature enough to have a say in our elections. But now, when those same tech-savvy young minds work for Musk, they’re suddenly a “gang of 20-year-olds” who can’t be trusted. The double standard is staggering.
The reality is, Slotkin’s speech wasn’t meant to persuade anyone. It was pure political theater, an attempt to rally the base with tired talking points that don’t hold up under scrutiny. Meanwhile, Musk, Trump, and the entire America First movement are continuing to move forward, unbothered by the performative outrage from the left.
If this little dust-up proves anything, it’s that the Democrats still don’t understand how to handle Musk. They can whine about him all they want, but while they’re busy complaining, he’s busy winning. And as Musk himself might say—despite all the noise—he’s just out here living his best life.
