After years of trying to paint Donald Trump as some kind of Russian asset, here we are in 2025 with a CNN pollster—yes, CNN—admitting that Americans actually approve of how Trump is handling Russia and Ukraine. That’s gotta sting for the folks who spent the last decade hyperventilating about “Russian collusion.”

Harry Enten, bless his heart, had the unenviable task of breaking this news to CNN viewers, and you could almost hear the collective groan from the network’s audience. Trump is more popular in his handling of Ukraine than Biden ever was. In fact, Biden was 22 points underwater by the end of his presidency. Meanwhile, Trump? A positive approval rating. That’s a massive shift, and it tells you everything you need to know about how Americans feel about the never-ending, taxpayer-funded war effort that Biden championed.

Let’s be real: Americans were never fully on board with Biden’s blank-check policy for Ukraine. But now, after years of watching their hard-earned money get funneled into a war that doesn’t seem to have a clear objective (other than enriching defense contractors and keeping D.C. elites busy), they’re saying enough is enough. According to this survey, 50% of Americans now want a quick end to the war—even if that means Ukraine has to cede some territory. Compare that to just 31% back in 2022, and you can see that patience has run out. The appetite for endless war just isn’t there anymore, no matter how many speeches the establishment throws at it.

And then there’s the real kicker—Americans are no longer seeing Russia as the cartoonish supervillain the media has made it out to be. Back in 2023, 64% of Americans considered Russia an “enemy.” Now? Just 34%. That’s a massive drop in just a year. Maybe it’s because people are realizing that throwing billions at a conflict with no endgame isn’t exactly “defending democracy.” Maybe it’s because they’re starting to ask why securing Ukraine’s borders was such a top priority while their own border was left wide open under Biden. Whatever the case, it’s clear that the narrative is shifting, and the usual fear-mongering just isn’t working like it used to.

And let’s not forget, this survey mostly took place before Trump’s Oval Office meeting with Zelensky. Meaning, the numbers could actually improve for Trump once people see how he’s handling things firsthand. And that right there is what really terrifies the Left. They were hoping that Trump’s presidency would be a disaster, that Americans would instantly regret electing him again. Instead, they’re being forced to reckon with a reality where Trump is actually—dare we say—competent in foreign policy.

Of course, the CNN crew tried their best to spin the results. Kate Bolduan pressed Enten for a different angle, anything that might make it look less like a total failure for Biden. But the numbers don’t lie. Trump’s approach—favoring negotiation and pragmatism over writing Ukraine a blank check—actually resonates with the American people. What a concept.

So now, the same media that spent years screaming about how Trump was a threat to democracy, a puppet of Putin, and a danger to the world is being forced to acknowledge that, actually, Americans prefer his approach over Biden’s. The Left may not like it, but reality has a funny way of setting in—whether they’re ready for it or not.
