In a fiery exchange at the White House press briefing on Friday, Fox News reporter Peter Doocy called out the Biden administration for the President’s false claim that his uncle was not only a war hero but was also eaten by cannibals.
Doocy respectfully addressed White House Deputy Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, asking why President Biden would make such a false and disrespectful statement about his uncle’s death. He highlighted that Biden’s uncle, Second Lieutenant Ambrose J. Finnegan, was already a war hero without needing to embellish the story with claims of being shot down and eaten by cannibals.
Jean-Pierre swiftly deflected, attacking Doocy and invoking the debunked Atlantic article that claimed former President Trump referred to fallen soldiers as “losers” and “suckers.”
But Doocy was not deterred, pointing out the absurdity of Biden’s claims and questioning where the cannibalism story even came from.
Instead of addressing the issue at hand, Jean-Pierre continued to push the narrative of honoring veterans, while also taking a dig at Trump. She failed to acknowledge that Biden was the one who made the false claims and instead shifted the focus to the previous administration.
Doocy persisted, asking Jean-Pierre about Biden’s position on the recent anti-Semitic protests at Columbia University, where students were seen chanting “we are all Hamas” and “long live Hamas.” Jean-Pierre again deflected, refusing to speak on the specific incident due to an ongoing investigation, but reiterated Biden’s stance against hate and discrimination.
However, Doocy pointed out that many young people, specifically on college campuses, are promoting anti-Semitic sentiments and asked for Biden’s response to such actions.
Once again, Jean-Pierre failed to directly address the issue, instead highlighting Biden’s stance against hate and anti-Semitism. But she conveniently left out the fact that it was the President himself who made false and disrespectful claims regarding his uncle’s death.
Doocy’s questions and Jean-Pierre’s evasive responses highlight the hypocrisy and double standards of the Biden administration. While they claim to stand against hate and discrimination, they are quick to deflect and shift the blame when one of their own makes false and disrespectful statements.
Biden’s claim of his uncle being shot down and eaten by cannibals was not only false but also insensitive and disrespectful to those who have genuinely sacrificed their lives for our country. Doocy was right to call out the administration for this blatant falsehood, and it is a shame that Jean-Pierre could not acknowledge or apologize for Biden’s actions.
