Iranian media affiliated with the country’s ruling establishment has escalated its rhetoric against President Donald Trump and his family, publishing new material that appears to encourage attacks against First Lady Melania Trump and includes threats directed at their son, Barron Trump.
According to the New York Post, a recently released video depicted Melania Trump traveling in a motorcade and visiting locations in New York City where she has reportedly shopped in the past. The video allegedly suggested that those locations could be “suitable for operations by global freedom fighters.”
The report said the video proposed using a nerve agent to contaminate clothing purchased by the first lady. It also identified several Manhattan retailers that Melania Trump has reportedly frequented and described potential indicators that she might be expected at those locations, including the removal of trash cans from nearby streets before a visit.
According to The Times of Israel, the video also suggested that individuals working with the first lady’s wardrobe could be bribed to poison her clothing. Several of her stylists were reportedly identified by name.
The video’s threats extended beyond the first lady.
“This is just the beginning. Barron Trump, wait for us,” the video stated.
Melania Trump and Barron Trump are protected by full-time U.S. Secret Service details. Security is also maintained at locations regularly associated with the Trump family, including the White House, Trump Tower in New York, Trump’s Bedminster golf club in New Jersey, and Mar-a-Lago in Florida.
The latest video follows a series of increasingly provocative displays attributed to Iranian sources in recent weeks.
Last week, according to the New York Post, billboards displayed in Iran featured images depicting Melania Trump, Barron Trump, and Ivanka Trump as deceased, with the word “KILLED” written in English above their images.
The billboard also included the message, “Hey, terrorist! Get ready to die.”
Earlier displays reportedly showed President Trump and several members of his family positioned above flag-draped coffins. Those images included Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump, Tiffany Trump, Barron Trump, and Ivanka Trump, accompanied by the phrase “Blood for Blood.”
Another billboard previously displayed an image portraying President Trump as dead alongside the message, “We Kill Trump.”
