Trump Issues Statement After Golf Course Attack

Former President Donald Trump didn’t hold back when addressing the second assassination attempt on his life, and he’s making it clear who he believes is responsible: the Democrats. In a Monday interview with Fox News Digital, Trump pointed the finger directly at the rhetoric coming from President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, saying their divisive language fueled the attack by 58-year-old Ryan Wesley Routh.

“He believed the rhetoric of Biden and Harris, and he acted on it,” Trump said. “Their rhetoric is causing me to be shot at when I am the one who is going to save the country, and they are the ones that are destroying the country — both from the inside and out.”

Trump didn’t mince words, calling out Democrats for branding him a “threat to democracy” while claiming to be the leaders of unity. According to him, the reality is far more sinister: “They are the opposite. These are people that want to destroy our country. It is called the enemy from within.”

But he didn’t stop there. Trump took to X (formerly Twitter) on Monday to blast the left for their “rhetoric and lawsuits” that he claims are inciting violence. In typical Trump fashion, he pulled no punches: “Because of this Communist Left Rhetoric, the bullets are flying, and it will only get worse!” The former president isn’t just blaming the rhetoric—he’s tying it directly to what he sees as coordinated attacks, both physical and legal, designed to take him down.

Meanwhile, Democrats, predictably, are trying to spin the situation, with some even blaming Trump for Routh’s violent actions. Former Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL), never one to shy away from a Trump jab, absurdly tried to connect the chaos to MAGA rhetoric, going so far as to bring up baseless claims about Haitian migrants eating pets in Springfield, Ohio. It’s a deflection tactic that’s as laughable as it is telling. Note- he turned off comments to anyone who may disagree with him. Sound familiar?

What’s shocking is how quickly left-wing media figures have jumped on the “blame Trump” bandwagon, even after a man literally tried to kill him. Can you imagine the outrage if this were a Democratic politician? The double standard is glaring. When violence targets Democrats, the media runs with the narrative that it’s the Republicans’ fault. But when violence strikes Trump or other conservatives, they twist it to somehow still be—wait for it—Trump’s fault.

This selective outrage is nothing new. The left wants to have it both ways: blame Republicans for everything and take no responsibility for the escalating violence their own rhetoric incites. It’s the same old playbook, but hopefully, voters aren’t falling for this one-sided game anymore.
