Trump Official Discusses Shutdown

The government is officially shut down — and no matter how loudly Democrats and their media allies try to spin it, the facts point to one reason: Democrats prioritized healthcare for illegal immigrants over keeping the federal government open. This isn’t conjecture. This isn’t partisan framing. This is exactly what happened — and Rep. Maxine Waters all but confirmed it.

When pressed by a reporter on Capitol Hill, Waters didn’t even flinch: “Democrats are demanding healthcare for everybody,” she said, when asked specifically about healthcare for illegal aliens. That “everybody” is doing a lot of heavy lifting — and voters know exactly what it means.


The shutdown went into effect at midnight, as Senate Democrats, led by Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, refused to budge on their $1.5 trillion in demands. Tucked into that bloated package? Funding for benefits to illegal aliens, refunding left-wing institutions like NPR, and stripping out provisions for rural healthcare that Republicans fought to preserve. It’s a classic D.C. move: threaten a shutdown, then blame the other side when you won’t compromise.

And now, true to form, DNC Chair Jaime Harrison is running with the predictable line — blaming Republicans and hoping no one looks deeper than the headlines. But as Trump adviser Stephen Miller pointed out, there’s no masking this one. It’s the Schumer Shutdown, and even The New York Times can’t soften the blow. A new Times/Siena poll shows Democrats trailing badly with voters on immigration — an issue they once owned, but have since turned into a liability by doubling down on policies that prioritize non-citizens over Americans.


That same poll shows a growing number of independents and working-class voters abandoning the Democratic Party over this very issue. And yet, Democrats seem committed to their strategy: frame any opposition as cruelty, ignore public sentiment, and hope the press will run interference long enough to survive the political fallout.

But this isn’t a messaging issue. This is a values issue. When Democrats are willing to shut down the government to secure benefits for those who broke our laws to enter this country — while gutting programs that serve rural Americans, veterans, and legal citizens — it tells voters everything they need to know.
