Vice President JD Vance and the Department of Labor have finally launched a probe into visa fraud. This move targets foreign workers who exploit the system to steal jobs from Americans. The goal is clear: protect American workers and stop the theft. This is a fight we have needed for a long time.
Widespread Fraud in Medical and Tech Sectors
The investigation was announced at an anti-fraud event in Milwaukee. Labor officials issued dozens of subpoenas to start the process. According to reports, recipients of worker visas have been used to bilk the medical industry to the tune of “hundreds of millions” of dollars. These schemes also hurt other employment sectors across the country.
Anthony D’Esposito noted that these networks are sometimes run by forced-labor groups and human traffickers. The DOL’s Office of Inspector General found widespread fraud in applications. They uncovered coercive wage-kickback arrangements that hurt honest workers. Department of Homeland Security assessments show that up to 21% of H-1B petitions were fraudulent.
Big Corporations Undercut American Wages
JD Vance made it clear that big corporations and fraudsters overseas are using this program to undercut the wages of American workers. The H-1B visa program is meant for skilled professionals like doctors and tech experts. But it is being abused by large companies to hire cheaper foreign labor. This hurts American graduates who cannot find work or homes.
Vance stated, “If you are trying to take advantage of that visa program, you are not allowed into the United States.” He added, “American jobs ought to go to American workers and not foreign fraudsters, and the Department of Labor is fighting back against it.” The Trump administration has long argued that these visas are a conduit for fraud. Workers often perform jobs different from what was specified on their petitions.
A Necessary Step to Restore Jobs
This probe is a vital step to end foreign job theft. It aligns with President Trump’s goals to put Americans first. Kevin Lynn said, “The door is opening a little bit, and now we have to force it open further with massive action.” We must force the system to work for us, not against us.
For too long, American families have watched their jobs vanish. Now, the government is taking action against those who steal them. We need to ensure these subpoenas lead to real change. The fight for American jobs is far from over, but this is a strong start. Do you think this probe will stop the fraud, or do we need more strict rules?
