WSJ Comments On Their Interview With Trump

Oh, here we go again. Kamala Harris and the Democrats are once again trying to push the tired narrative of Donald Trump’s so-called “mental decline.”

But after his 90-minute interview with The Wall Street Journal’s editorial board last week, it’s clear that those attacks are nothing but desperate flailing. The WSJ editors, who are hardly cheerleaders for Trump, found no signs of the mental slippage Harris and her buddies are so eager to pounce on. In fact, they said Trump seemed sharper than ever—more confident, more knowledgeable, and more prepared than he was during his first run in 2015.

You can watch here.

The irony here is almost too rich. Harris, who has plenty of her own incoherent moments (we’ve all seen those cringeworthy word salads), is out here calling Trump “unstable and unhinged.” Really, Kamala? This is coming from the same person who awkwardly cackles through interviews and struggles to string together a clear thought on policy? And let’s not forget her steadfast defense of 81-year-old President Biden, who has spent the last few years getting lost in his own sentences and trailing off mid-thought in debates. But somehow, Biden’s the picture of mental clarity, according to Harris. Give me a break.

In her campaign, Harris keeps hammering on the age difference between herself and Trump, trying to position herself as the leader of a “new generation.” But let’s face it: age isn’t the issue here. It’s competence, and after that WSJ interview, it’s obvious Trump’s got it. The man held his own during a lengthy grilling, staying focused and discussing policy in detail. Compare that to Biden, who seems to get confused after five minutes of talking points.

Harris said of Trump, “He’s becoming increasingly unstable and unhinged, and it requires that response. I think the American people deserve better than someone who actually seems to be unstable.”

If Harris wants to attack Trump’s mental fitness, maybe she should start by taking a closer look at her own boss. Democrats and donors have been quietly expressing doubts about Biden for a while now, especially after his performance in the June debate. Biden came across as muddled, nonsensical, and downright lost. Meanwhile, Trump is out there confidently discussing the issues that matter—border security, inflation, and national safety—and proving why he’s still a force to be reckoned with in 2024.

It’s just another pathetic attempt by Harris to distract from her own weaknesses. The more she tries to paint Trump as “unhinged,” the more it becomes clear that her attacks are baseless. If she’s banking on the mental fitness card to win voters over, she might want to reconsider because Trump is still in the game, sharp as ever, while her party’s leader struggles to remember what office he’s running for.
