Despite assurances from Vice President Kamala Harris that she is “ready to serve,” concerns over President Joe Biden’s mental fitness continue to grow, causing even members of his own party to question his capacity to lead.
The latest development in the ongoing saga surrounding Biden’s mental acuity comes in the form of a report from Special Counsel Robert Hur, who recommended no charges against the president for mishandling classified documents due in part to his “significant limitations” in terms of memory.
Border Czar Kamala Harris is “ready to serve,” while 76-year-old presidential loser Hillary Clinton says Biden’s age is “a legitimate issue.”

The report, released last week, has sparked renewed calls from GOP lawmakers for the cabinet to invoke the 25th Amendment and remove Biden from office. But it’s not just Republicans who are speaking out – even some high-profile Democrats are expressing concern.

Former President Bill Clinton’s top strategist, James Carville, went as far as to suggest that the White House has little confidence in Biden after he turned down an interview on Super Bowl Sunday, the biggest TV event of the year.
“And you don’t do it? That’s a kind of sign that the staff, or yourself, doesn’t have much confidence in you,” Carville said in a scathing assessment. “There’s no other way to read this.”
Not to be outdone, another former Clinton strategist, Paul Begala, declared that the Hur report’s indictment of Biden’s memory and the president’s subsequent response were “terrible for Democrats.”
In a nod to the growing concern within the party, 2016 Democrat presidential nominee Hillary Clinton admitted in an interview that Biden’s age is “a legitimate issue.”
This is not the first time that Biden’s mental fitness has been called into question. During the 2020 election, his frequent gaffes and memory lapses were a subject of much scrutiny and mockery from opponents.
But now, with President Biden in office and facing the difficult task of leading the country out of a global pandemic and economic crisis, the stakes are higher than ever. Many are starting to wonder if he is up to the challenge.
Harris, for her part, maintains that she is prepared to take on the responsibilities of the presidency if needed. However, her track record as vice president thus far has been lackluster and she continues to face criticism for her performance – or lack thereof – in the role.

The fact that Harris is already positioning herself as a potential successor to Biden is a clear indication that the administration is aware of the concerns surrounding the president’s mental state and is bracing for any potential fallout.
