In the wake of Biden’s disastrous debate performance, calls for him to withdraw have intensified. The New York Times editorial board and actor George Clooney are among those voicing their concerns about Biden seeking another term. Now, it seems that even some insiders from Biden’s campaign are echoing these sentiments.
One campaign official allegedly told NBC News, “He needs to drop out… he will never recover from this.” The report, titled “‘No one involved in the effort thinks he has a path’: Biden insiders say the writing is on the wall,” cites three people directly involved in Biden’s re-election efforts who have reportedly reversed their support in recent days.
The report states that the group of Democrats who believe Biden should reconsider his candidacy now includes aides, operatives, and officials responsible for steering his campaign to victory. These individuals, speaking anonymously, indicated that there is widespread belief within the campaign that Biden should step aside for another candidate, most likely Vice President Kamala Harris.

Concerns about Biden’s cognitive abilities, fundraising struggles, and unfavorable polling have made the campaign seem unsustainable, according to one staffer. Another source claimed, “This person also said they didn’t see how the campaign could win,” adding to the chorus of doubt.
Despite the growing discontent, at least two people close to Biden still believe in his potential to defeat Trump in November, emphasizing that this goal should take precedence over backing Biden himself.

In response to the NBC News report, a Biden campaign spokesperson told Fox News Digital that the claims are “patently false.” Biden remains adamant about continuing his run for the Democratic ticket and is scheduled to sit down with NBC News anchor Lester Holt next week.
