Charlamagne Tha God Comments On Harris Choice

Well, folks, it looks like Charlamagne Tha God is at it again, this time taking aim at Vice President Kamala Harris and her decision to tap Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate.

According to Charlamagne, whose real name is Lenard Larry McKelvey, Walz isn’t exactly the most inspired choice. Nope, according to him, Walz was picked because Harris needed a “DEI hire.” That’s right—Charlamagne’s calling Walz the token white guy on the ticket. Talk about a ringing endorsement.

During his Sunday chat with Jonathan Karl on ABC’s “This Week,” Charlamagne didn’t hold back. He admitted that he barely knew who Walz was until a couple of weeks ago. And, in classic left-wing fashion, he chalked up the choice to Harris needing a white male to make the country “comfortable.” So much for picking someone based on qualifications or leadership skills, right?

But wait, there’s more. Charlamagne went on to describe Harris as having “very moderate” policy positions. Moderate? Really? This is the same Kamala Harris who was ranked as the most far-left U.S. Senator. But hey, why let facts get in the way of a good narrative? Maybe in Charlamagne’s world, calling for massive government overreach and supporting radical policies is what passes for moderation these days.

And then, he couldn’t resist taking a jab at Harris’s media strategy—or lack thereof. He criticized her for staying out of the spotlight and not doing interviews or press conferences, claiming that’s the only reason Trump is still dominating headlines. Well, maybe Harris isn’t doing interviews because she knows the questions might be tougher than she’s ready to handle. Or maybe she’s just letting her record speak for itself—though we all know that record isn’t exactly glowing.

As reported on the Daily Wire:

“I just found out about him over the last couple of weeks,” he said. “At first, I was a little bit disappointed like I knew she — we knew she needed a DEI hire, right?”

“So Tim Walz is the DEI hire on this ticket?” Karl asked. “Diversity, equity, inclusion.”

“Absolutely,” McKelvey responded. “She needed a white male to make America comfortable. It is what it is. No need for us to, you know, act crazy about it. You know what it is.”

So there you have it: a left-wing commentator admitting that Harris’s VP pick was all about optics, while somehow trying to spin her as a centrist. It’s just another day in the upside-down world of progressive politics, where substance takes a backseat to identity politics and virtue signaling. But hey, at least they’re being honest about it, right?
