Hunter Biden admitted in a new interview that his board seat at Burisma helped fund his crack cocaine addiction. He told the “Dopey” podcast host that he used the money to pay for drugs and prostitutes. The former board member said he never went broke during those years. According to reports, he earned up to $1 million per year for this role.
He stated the income came from 2014 to 2019 while his father served as Vice President. The report notes he had no energy industry experience for the job. He claimed the board required him to attend just four meetings each year.
Biden explained his presence on the board by citing past service elsewhere. “What people don’t understand about Burisma is that I went on the board of Burisma because I had been on the board of about 14 other major national and international organizations,” he said. He insisted he was qualified and not “running some kind of international crime syndicate.” Per reports, he claimed to be chairman of the UN World Food Program board.

He described the money as residual income that remained even during his addiction. “Well, I still had the residual. Like for instance, I still was on the board of Burisma,” he told the host. He added that he could still attend the required meetings even when he was “out of my mind.” This income allowed him to “can do a lot of cool stuff,” according to his own words.
The interview also covered visits from his father, Joe Biden, to his home in Washington D.C. Hunter said his father “literally showed up at the house twice, you know, and just knocked on the door.” RedState reported that the former Vice President would scale down the motorcade before the trip. He made these trips to a house where Hunter was using crack cocaine.
Biden stated the motorcade was reduced to avoid drawing attention to the visit. He described the scene as his father arriving at a location used for drug use. The report does not confirm if any other officials knew about these visits.
