Former President Donald Trump drew an impressive crowd of supporters to the Jersey Shore for a rally on Saturday, with over 100,000 people estimated to have attended. Despite being held in the deep blue state of New Jersey, the rally drew a massive turnout, with some estimates placing the number closer to 80,000 people.
The event, hosted in Wildwood, New Jersey, was the largest political gathering in the state’s history, according to New Jersey Republican Rep. Jeff Van Drew. Trump himself marveled at the size of the crowd, noting that the media rarely shows the full extent of his support to the public.
“There’s so many people here,” Trump said after taking the stage. “Man, over 100,000 people!”
“You can’t even see the end. I wish we didn’t have the press here … because they can’t see in the back,” he added. “You know, I always tell the press, ‘Turn your cameras around to show the audience.’ They never do it. Look, fake news.”
Trump also spoke on winning the blue state of New jersey who hasn’t voted republican since 1988 with Georse H.W. Bush.
“As you can see today, we’re expanding the electoral map because … we’re going to win the state of New Jersey,” Trump said. “I think we’re going to win them all. All across America, millions of people, so-called blue states, are joining our movement based on love, intelligence, and a thing called common sense.”

But Trump didn’t just garner attention for the sheer size of the crowd, he also drew praise from local politicians and even former NFL greats. Lawrence Taylor and Ottis Anderson joined Trump on stage, with Taylor declaring his loyalty to the Republican party and Trump.
“I grew up a Democrat, and I’ve always been a Democrat until I met this man right here,” Taylor said, pointing to Trump. “He will not have to worry about nobody in my family ever voting for a Democrat again.”
North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum, a potential candidate for the Republican vice presidential nomination, also made an appearance at the rally. Trump praised Burgum’s expertise in technology and hinted at big things to come from the pair in the future.
But the focus of the rally was on Trump’s opponent, President Joe Biden. The former president didn’t hold back, calling Biden a “fool” and declaring that “the gloves are off” when it comes to discussing the current administration.
The massive turnout for Trump’s rally in a heavily blue state is a clear indicator of the continued support he has from his base. Despite the media’s attempts to discredit him, Trump remains a powerful force in American politics.
Also on stage with Trump were former NFL greats Lawrence Taylor and Ottis Anderson.
“I grew up a Democrat, and I’ve always been a Democrat until I met this man right here,” Taylor said, pointing back to Trump. “He will not have to worry about nobody in my family ever voting for a Democrat again.”

As he continues to hold rallies and make public appearances, his message of “love, intelligence, and common sense” is resonating with people across the country. And with the backing of influential politicians and even former athletes, it’s clear that the Republican party is united behind their leader.
Only time will tell if Trump’s prediction for the 2024 election will come true, but for now, he remains a powerful figure in the world of politics, drawing massive crowds and making waves wherever he goes.
