Lemon’s Deal With Musk Falls Apart

Former CNN anchor Don Lemon demanded the sun, the moon, and the stars from SpaceX boss Elon Musk before being embarrassingly dumped this week.

According to a document reviewed by The Post, Lemon made outrageous demands in contract negotiations to host a show on Musk’s social media platform X.

He not only asked for an $8-million salary but also demanded a free Tesla Cybertruck, a $5 million upfront payment, an equity stake in the company, and the power to approve changes in X’s policy regarding news content.

Lemon also requested a private jet flight to Las Vegas, a suite for himself and his fiance, day drinking, and massages – all at the company’s expense. This is in addition to executive assistants and a marketing budget of $10 to $15 million.

Musk, who was aware of these demands, still agreed to interview Lemon. However, after the one-and-a-half-hour sit-down, Musk fired him, calling Lemon “dull” and “underwhelming.”

This is not Lemon’s first attempt to secure a high-paying gig after being fired by CNN last April. He had discussions with X shortly after leaving the network, but talks stalled due to his outrageous demands.

In an interview with veteran tech journalist Kara Swisher, Lemon claimed that X threatened to fire him if he did not attend the Consumer Electronic Show in Las Vegas earlier this year. However, a spokesperson for X called this claim “a disingenuous lie.”

Lemon’s actions also highlight the elitist and entitled mindset of many liberal media figures. They expect to be treated like celebrities, demanding luxurious accommodations and excessive amounts of money for what should be seen as a professional job.

It is no surprise that X. Musk eventually fired Lemon is known for his no-nonsense approach and would not tolerate such outrageous requests.
